Ondansetron Orally Disintegrating Tablets IP About

Description :

Ondansetron orally disintegrating tablets (IP - Indian Pharmacopoeia) are
fast-acting medications used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. They dissolve on the tongue in seconds without water, making them ideal for patients who struggle to swallow pills.
Ondansetron Orally Disintegrating Tablets (IP - Indian Pharmacopoeia) are prescription anti-nausea medications designed to dissolve instantly on the tongue without water. They are primarily used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and post-surgery anesthesia.
They belong to the 5-HT3 receptor antagonist class of drugs. They work by blocking the action of serotonin, a natural chemical in the body that triggers nausea and vomiting.

Uses

Ondansetron is commonly prescribed to manage:
  • Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting (CINV): Helps prevent both acute and delayed nausea from cancer treatments.
  • Radiotherapy-Induced Nausea: Prevents nausea and vomiting from radiation sessions.
  • Postoperative Nausea and Vomiting (PONV): Controls sickness following surgical procedures.
